Hello Everyone.

I'm new to this post. I have a Craftsman model 917.272066 lawn tractor with a 16 HP Kohler model CV460S engine. Have electrical problems from time to time, mostly with safety switches, etc. Currently, I'm replacing the fuel shut-off solenoid. It looks pretty straight forward, but if anyone has any advice or suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them. This looks like a good post - glad to be part of it.

Hello gwcrabtreephd,

Welcome to LawnMowerForum.com. For help with your solenoid question, I would post in the Small Engine and Mower Repair forum. Best of luck with your lawn tractor!

Thanks, Brianna. I have been able to solve my solenoid problem, but next time, I will post on the appropriate place.

Replacing the solenoid is fiarly easy if you can find or make the right wrench. You will need a thin 1/2" open end wrench to do it. I use tappet wrenches but most people don't have or know what they are. Most people tale a 1/2" wrench and grind it on each side until it is thin enough.
