Hi, I have restored a few older Lawn-Boys in the last few years and enjoy the brand. I just brought home the oldest Lawn-Boy I have seen. It has a cast aluminum deck and an Iron horse engine. The emblem on the rear says rpm model 8FH12LB Lamar, Missouri. I think it to be early 50'S , anywhere to find any real info that anybody knows? appreciate any help, Scott

I'm afraid I can't help on your question.. But don't be shy about posting pics of your latest oldie, sounds pretty cool..
As far as I know 8fh12lb is a 1952, a 8fh13lb is a 1953 and 8fh14lb is a 1954 with 1955 being the first year of the bricktop. Unclelee has more expertise in the 8fh12lbs. He is restoring a very nice one.
To be alittle more clear the odd numbered machines are transitional models from one year to the next so an 8FH13lb would have been produced late 53-early 54 as I understand it.
Thanks for the info on RPM unclelee, I have cleaned this old timer up and gave it some new paint. It and myself were are from the same year, I don't look as good !

Looking good big brother!!!!!
I have a tank decal that I am going to get reproduced so I will have a few to sell on ebay. When I get them done you know were to get one.
You were lucky to have the shroud on yours....I had to search the world over for one someone would sell me. Wound up getting one from Iowa.

That is a beautiful old mower. I am about the same vintage.

That color green looks good on it....I had originally thought to give mine some custom colors...almost the same green but with a heavy gold metal flake. I kinda got a custom mower bug from the 1957 Moto Mower that was transformed into the machine known as the Atomic Yard Master ( you should google it if you have not seen...it is the coolest mower on the planet ) But at the end of the day I couldn't bring myself to change from the original color...even though the original green is kinda ugly.
