Hello. Thanks for letting me join your site. I've got a 1998 Murray 38" rider and have been searching for information about leveling the deck and during the search, came up with this site. So I plan on doing a lot of searching here. Thanks again.

If you supply a model number from your mower, that would be helpful, look for a sticker under the seat or post a picture, Murray made MANY models.

Thanks guys for the welcome. To be more specific on my rider, the model number for my mower is 38713X71A and the serial number is 7386612782V00275. It shows a mfg. date of 8/14/1998. It has a Tecumseh 13 hp motor. Any guidance you can give me on finding a manual or instructions on adjusting the deck height will be well appreciated. All I am able to find to this point on the internet are parts lists. Again thanks for any help.

You can try this 40 inch deck manual, it just might be the same TYPE of deck , it's worth a shot. you can download it there and if it's close enough, hang onto it for future reference, these places to find this old info. are fast disappearing !!
