new JD 105

I'm looking at a 2013 JD105 to replace a *brand new* 2012 Ariens 2142 with a bum hydrostatic transmission after 3 months. The JD105 has a CVT, which I'm told is better on smaller equipment because of design issues with small hydrostatics.

Comments? Opinions re the JD105?

It wasn't a JD, but I owned a White LT15 with the CVT for about 10 years. It never gave me one moments trouble. One thing I did like about it was the ease at which I could go from forward to reverse, but that was before I owned my first hydro. It still looked and ran like new when I sold it. However, that was before White became a big box store brand. At that time, you could only get one at a dealer.
