I saw the complaint thread about asking questions in the new member forum so I won't do that. Moved to Indiana recently. Brought along the Simplicity Broadmoor we bought in 2004 (or was it 03, can't remember). Anyway, we have 1.5 acres now so I spend some time on it now. At some point we want to buy the empty lot next to us. If we do that I might want to get something bigger/faster.

Greetings fellow Hoosier  The Broadmoor is one sweet ride. It should be able to handle up to 2 acres. So if the size of the lot is more than 1/2 acre an upgrade may be justified.

Thanks for the welcome. It would be another 1.5 acres, so 3 total. It still wouldn't be too bad with the Broadmoor, but it's only a 44" cut and with two little kids I wouldn't want to spend too much time out there when the grass is growing good.

Personally I'd just keep the current mower, but it is up to you. I have never owned a riding mower, so I can't recommend one, but I can say that there are a lot of people on here who own John Deeres and love them!
