Hello I'm going to explain the problem,
Once you start the mower it starts to puff but keeps on running, then, as soon as you shift it into gear, it starts to putter and turns off... I'm so confused, any help is appreciated

Sounds like water in the gas to me. Drain the float bowl and try again.
