Hello - B&S is out of stock on their original carburetor 799866 that fit many of the Toro and Craftsman mowers I work on for myself and my neighbors. This is a carb for B&S auto choke system.
I have not had consistent luck with the aftermarket carburetors from Amazon. Can anyone recommend a place I can get the appropriate rebuild kit or original carburetors? I'm assuming there must be another on-line source but have not been able to find one.
Thank you.

some of those carbs might have a dozen numbers depending on where they were used and what year they were sold in. EPA and CARB, as well as other countries had constantly changing regulations on small engines over the last 25 years, so one number might simply be a common carb with specific jetting to meet smog regs in that locale and year. You might take it to a local shop and see if they have something that matches closely. Lots of ads show 799871 as a replacement but that is not an official replacement that comes up in any of the well known places like Jacks.

I assumed the OP did bother to look up the engine's IPL for the correct carburetor pn. That particular fits several hundred Briggs engines per Briggs Eparts system.
I've had good luck with Most Amazon carbs, and Ethanol will mess them up no faster than the $80 original. Trick is to match HP Rating so jets are the proper size and choose one with a Mixture Adjustment if possible. I used to rebuild with ultrasonic but then New carbs went under $20, Now some are closer to $10 and with next day shipping. It's not too good to be true, with Free Returns just keep trying till you find the right one. I'll Never pay $80 for a Mower Carb again. Most OEM are made in China too, Prolly same factory.
