I just bought a craftsman lawn tractor but it's got no drive belt ! I've been to 3 different web sites and got 3 different answers .if anyone knows the correct length & width please send info model # 917271022

The 140294 (532140294) is 1/2 x 82.25. Yes Sears will currently have it list as a 1/2 x 82 belt which will work with worn pulleys.

Thanks for that info ! That's one size that I was given . The other was 1/2 x 95 I'm gonna get some rope and try to measure it that way just to make sure

Finding some correct belt sizes can be frustrating. However with correct model number, and cross referencing at least two sites, you should be able to get correct size. If you take a rope and attempt to wrap it around pulleys, it will be just short of a miracle if you will get an accurate measurement.

Yes it is a more complicated you need the center distance between the pulleys. the diameter of each of pulleys in this the OD diameter x 1.5708. With this info can fiqure the belt length. 2x the center distance plus each of pulleys half circumference. Even then you will only be close to the correct size.
