Need help setting timing on Makita four stroke bush cutter

Hello there, I am hoping someone can help me with setting the timing on my bush cutter, a Makita EBH341U 4-stroke.

I was silly and did not mark the crank position when taking it apart to change the piston rings, and now I am a bit stuck. There are alignment marks on the flywheel, but not sure which mark goes on which side.

If anyone could help, it would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello there, unfortunately that manual only covers the general use, not how to set the engine timing using flywheel marks.

Thank you though!

Try this. Should be what you are looking for...Different four stroke Makita but according the IPL looks like the same setup.

I will give it a look first thing! The pics looks a bit unfamiliar but as long as I can find the coil mark I should be fine.

Much appreciated, I will let you know.
