Need help dropping fuel tank craftsman dyt4000

Wondering if anybody could give me a few pointers on how to drop the fuel tank I need to flush it out a friend of mine mom needs hers done her granddaughter filled the tank to rim with sand. Lucky she saw it before she started it she never tried starting it any pointers would be great thanks

Post model number from under seat. First, for safety, remove battery ground cable and tuck away to avoid spark.
