Need help deciding (Craftsman or not)

I am in the market for a new self-propelled lawn mower. My current 13 year old Craftsman 6.75hp is starting to break down and needs some work. I live on 1/2-3/4 acre that is flat with some hills. I went to the mall and Sears has two that I like. The ProSeries 190cc FWD for $349 and the all black 196cc AWD for $369. Both seem to have a lot of bad reviews that has me worried. I even looked at Honda's but the one I liked was $679. I just need a solid mower to mulch my yard once a week, I don't bag my clippings. I like the $400-500 price range. Any help would be appreciated.

You will not be happy with a Craftsman. I suggest you take a serious look at a Toro model 21381. Best mulched on the market and when properly maintained, will be the last mower you will buy. Disclaimer, I am a Toro guy all the way, as well as a tech for a Toro dealership.
