What makes the bg 55 blower hard to start and when it runs it flutters and when you take air filter out it runs fine but if you try to start it without air filter it does the same thing hard to start ?
Thanks

Ok
1. Dirty air filter
2. Old gas (over 2 weeks old)
3. Old spark plug
4. Dirty carb
Start with one and finish them all.

I do not know why, but the bg55 is a black eye for Stihl, that is the only piece of Stihl I have ever owned that has not been 100%.
2) carbs installed in less than a year and it still started rough, so I made the dealer give me credit for it and walked out with the 86, dealer was pissy about doing that so they are not my Stihl dealer anymore.
