My Troy-built lawn mower has a bent shaft that the blade mounts.

The mower is 4 years old and a B&S motor # 09P602-0076-F1. I have found only one motor from either B&S Troy-Built that has a replacement. The price is $ 360.00 plus $50.00 delivered. I can go back to Home De Pot and get a 2022 model brand new for 299.00 plus taxes. I found an engine, B&S # 09602*0077-F1 for $89/00 plus shipping. I have not found any info on different motors that I can use in place of the original. The bent shaft cost $122.00 plus shipping. I am not a mechanical person when taking a motor apart and putting back together. Any help or suggestions, I would appreciate it very much! Frank.

Both 09P602-0077-F1 and 09P602-0076-F1 supposedly have the same as both supersedes to the 093J02-0086-F1

And yes it is quite to be able replace a walk behind engine with a complete new mower as Briggs sells the engines in volume to the mower manufacture dirt cheap.

if you are not mechanically inclined, sell the old mower for parts, and buy a new one. Then walk the property and get rid of the object that bent the crankshaft, or at least flag it so you don't do it again.
