I had to remove the mower to do some repairs. When I got the mower started to use for something else it would not in either direction.
I am not a mechanic so I am not sure what the problem might b. There are three belts, one is under the battery compartment, guessing it is a transmission belt, there is a bel under that one which rungs to the upper pulley at the at the front of the mower and of course the is the mower belt. The top belt appears to be tight, other belt that runs forward is loose.

When I depress the clutch and shift into forward or backward, mower will, not move. What might I look for@

Make sure your drive belt is installed correctly from engine to transaxle, always use OEM Troy Bilt parts.

Assuming that the drive belts are installed correctly. Start the mower, move the speed selector to its highest setting and let the clutch out with the forward/reverse lever in neutral. Now push the clutch back in and move the speed selector to a low setting, and shift the forward/reverse selector into either gear and let the clutch out. Mower should move.

I am thinking the belts are out of sync and need to be reset. A few years ago i was having to do this for customers about one a week.

Thanks for your help and advice. I followed your directions and my mower moved.
I have one more question maybe you can help me on this. I was chopping leaves with my pony mower and I ran over the top of an old stump, when I stopped the mower belt was off some of the pulleys and one of the idler pulley's was loose. In checking on it today the idler pulley has been pulled off the deck. There is a hole there and I noticed on the bottom of the pulley looks there was a piece of metal that was from what I am thinking fit in that hole, so I am wondering if that can be fixed. If it is permissible I can take a picture of the deck on place it on this site, if I can find the directions to do that.
