My mowers shut off by them selves

Cadet LTX1050. When mowing deep grass my mowers electric pto shuts off by itself. I then push the pto button in and pull it back out and the mower starts cutting again. Is the a safety feature or a glitch?

I would check for a marginal battery. How old is it?
Clean battery connections.
Clean ground cable connection at both ends.
Check for corrosion on PTO switch connections.
Check for corrosion on clutch wiring connector.
