I have repowered my 1976 troybilt horse with a Honda gx160. It has ran great so far. Last week, while tilling in the garden, a couple bolts on the crankcase cover backed out and that gasket broke loose letting the oil spray out. The engine did not run more than a few seconds like this. As soon as the oil started spraying out, I killed it. The cover did not separate enough to even see through it, just enough to let the gasket fail.
I just replaced that gasket and, for good measure, a new bearing and seal on the crank. Now, the engine that has been so easy to start in the past, won't start. I know it's getting spark. It seems to still have compression. Any idea what could be wrong? Any help would be appreciated.
