My friend invites me to go into landscaping business. Many schools and offices need landscaping maintenance. We are sure we need different kind of mowers. Any idea what we should buy at the beginning?

Landscaping is the in-thing as we speak. I was with my uncle yesterday at his farm and he saw the need for a landscaper. Is any of you trained in that field?

Yes. There are many homes and apartment buildings that need good landscapers. A good landscape makes us feel good about home. But people are busy. So they are interested to hire people who can do the job.

Well, I guess it's kind of like becoming a barber-----there would certainly be job security, as it certainly is a constant battle to keep growing things groomed!

I would think that it would depend on where you are doing this and what type of lawns you are tending. I've seen some outfits with one lawnmower and a few rakes. Some others have 2 or 3 different kinds of mowers and other lawn equipment.

Yes, I see that we need lawn mowers, rakes, carts.

Driller, you said two or three different kinds of mowers. What kinds do you suggest?

One more thing to consider is how to transport the equipment around. Are you going to put it into the back of a pickup truck or use some kind of trailer?

Around here you can't throw a rock without hitting a landscaping company. And they're ALL busy.
