By trade I'm an engineer and when my 3-4 year old push mower didn't start this year my first thought was PROJECT! So I began disassembling my cheap Bolens 22" B&S 500 series 158cc mower and have a short list of parts that I'm going to replace. My question is about painting the components. I have high temp black and silver paint on hand and was wondering if anyone has experience with this and could guide me as far as the best way to tape off the threads/internals for paint prep. Also was wondering if anyone has tried any different types of paint that would make it easier to hose off the under side of the mower deck. Is there a non-stick type of paint that could be applied?
