my 6 hp briggs and straton engine won't start

my 6 hp briggs and straton engine won't start. I put a new plug in it still won, fire. ran great last week. any thoughts?

You don't say if you have spark, you need to check to see if you have spark, fuel going into the cylinder, and compression. post up the engine numbers.
