I have a 20+yr old mower that I've been using to move firewood. Used yesterday no issues. Filled with gas today & started right up. Died after about a minute when I was hooking cart up. Started again no issue. Was driving into the woods, drove over the same small bump as always and it died and won't start. Cranks but won't fire. Checked air filter no issue, replaced fuel filter & pulled the plug to check for spark and it seemed fine. Any thoughts on what to try next?

If it has good spark, I suspect fuel blockage. I would disconnect the fuel line before the fuel filter and see if you can get a full quart to run out without stopping. If it continues to flow I would replace the filter and retest. If it will not run properly, I would be looking at cleaning and rebuilding the carb. If fuel doesn’t flow freely I would be checking for debris in the tank. If your unit has a fuel pump you’ll have to remove the fuel line at the carb and test it’s flow with an assistant cranking the engine over while you watch the output.

Thanks! I did check for fuel flow and replaced the fuel filter but I didn't run a full quart through. I'll check that out tomorrow.
