I have a Murray MODEL 309000x8B that refuses to keep a blade belt from stopping and burning. I mowed about 1/4 of my yard, and the blade stopped turning, heard a quick squeal and smelled the burnt belt. All in about 2 seconds. This is the 3rd time this happens. These Murray blade belts aren't cheap.
Anyway, I have dropped the deck and made sure the pulleys are free turning. I can't seem to find out what is wrong. Everything lines up, and nothing is loose.
Anybody have any suggestions outside of bringing it to the shop?
