hello everyone , I have and old 2004 Murray 405000x8c with a briggs and stratton engine Model 21B807 0239E1. I went to start it yesterday and, upon it wouldn't start so i started troubleshooting around the carburetor area and saw that the governor cable was broke, so not a big deal i ordered another one. Then i noticed that a loose spring was just sitting in between something, anyway i cant seem to figure out where it connects to. Can anyone tell me where it goes ?, and if the mower will run without it ?. ive attached a picture below. thank you !
It’s the governor control spring. Goes between the governor and throttle control. Trying to locate a picture to help you out. Will post if I can find one.

hi, thanks for your reply, I have the diagram, but where it goes to is so small, I just can't make it out on the diagram. I'm also going to take a picture of my machine, maybe to make it a little easier, it wasn't riding right last season because of this, was driving me completely crazy. I had three people trying to help me but none of them could figure it out. I'll get it up tomorrow, because it will be to dark out by the time I get home to post it today. Thank you !
Hey guys, I finally got to the spring today, but I only see one hole in the black plastic swivel for the spring to connect to, I know this is really simple but I'm not seeing where it goes to, unless I have something else hooked up wrong. I took a side pic and a top view pic so you can see. Thanks

The spring does not go the carburetor but on the control bracket that I posted a picture of from my personal mower.
hi StarTech, I was wondering if you ever took a look at where I put the spring, I think it's right, but unfortunately, I can't start it up yet to find out, because I have to get a new battery. thanks

Been very busy here. Just looked at your picture and the spring is connected in one place but it is off toward the carburetor instead going down to the governor arm. Also the choke linkage is incorrectly installed. It will never work as in the picture.
