I have a 20 in cut briggs eng and it has been running fine with no Problems at all ! I check the oil and i stated it and run it for about 1 hour and stopped Cutting the grass as i was done, well now a week later i go to cut the grass and when i went to crank it or pull the rope ,it felt like there was something wrapped around the shaft and it is hard to pull but it does pull but hard Not normal like the pull it used to have ! Please someone tell me there ain't nothing wrong with my mower, and can be a easy fix ( RIGHT!!! )What do you think?any answers Please. Regards, Jim!

Hopefully you have figured it out by now but look under the mower to see if indeed something is wrapped around the blade shaft. If there is PULL off the spark plug wire before you attempt to free the blade. If there is nothing wrapped around the blade, remove the spark plug from the engine and move it away from the plug hole and try to pull the starter rope, if it feels the same as you described then you have motor issues, if the motor spites out a bunch of oily gas then your carburetor float is stuck and the motor flooded with gas, easy fix if you know how to clean a carb. Let us know what you found

Check the flywheel brake and cable. Sounds like the brake is on . Is the cable broke? I'm presuming it has a brake and bail that you hold while mowing. The cable could have broken at the engine end. Hopefully you have it fixed by now.
