Mulching plug issue!

I bought a mulching plug for my CC XT1 about 2 years ago and fit is good, however it’s not secure enough on the bottom and grass clippings always accumulate and work their way through it.
I wondering if the newer ones are any better?

I have the same issue and I resolved it, completely by drilling 4 holes in the plug and installing Zip ties around the lower lip on the dec and it’s now completely tight and sealed ❗️
