Good morning,

My wife ran over, and managed to halve a brick with our MTD Lawnflite RH115 which has punctured the fan shroud. This was getting rusty and thin, so needed replacing anyway, but it also broke one of the fan blades as well. The mower is pretty old, and only has maybe two years before being replaced, therefore trying to justify not spending £140 and hoping to just buy the shroud for £75. If I buy the shroud now, and the fan later, it gets even more expensive as they come discounted as a pair. (Mower was only bought for £500, so £140+ is a pretty large expense in relation to the mower)

When operating, the mower is making a lot of noise, which I'm thinking is more the hole in the shroud than a missing fan blade. Do you think my thought are correct or will it still make a racket with a missing blade?

Anyone else broken a fan blade, and continued to run with no issues?
