Hi Guys,
First post on your forum. I hope you can help, I bought an old MTD 504 which runs well, cuts well however the first 4 gears do not work and therefore I have to cut in 5th or 6th gear. Not a problem but 5th and 6th are really the speed of 2nd or 3rd.
I think the problem is with the drive belt, so I ordered a new one which arrived today. I dropped the deck off the unit and found that there is a belt for the deck, one for the drive and one for the hydrostatic drive unit. They both need replacing so I have ordered the 2nd belt. So far all good (badly planned but all good), I decided to try and workout the best way to remove the belts which is not quite as straight forward as I thought. Next step, take to the internet and download the manual...............can't find the serial number. It says that it will be under the seat or on the deck. Nothing under the seat and the deck has had a repair which I am guessing was where the number was. I can't download the manual from Lawnflite without the serial number. I can't find anyone on the internet that has documented the process and the Lawnflight contact us webpage has crashed. :confused2::confused2::confused2::confused2:
Can anyone advise me the best way to replace the belts and/or have an electronic manual.
