mtd 32 inch cut lawn tractor

engine runs fine until i engage pto--then the engine starts to miss and sputter and die. tractor runs fine if i do not try to engage the pto-----------help need to cut the lawn

Did you look under the deck to see if anything got caught in blades. With engine off see if you can turn blades by hand. See if belts are free. Might have frozen pulley bearing.

i believe that is the problem. pulley or pulleys sticking from a long winter. i will give it a shot
