How many of the members here feel they have just the right amount of area that they can devote the right amount of time to? I mean, if you are into gardening and hate mowing, do you have a huge garden but a small yard that requires minimal care? If you would rather plant trees and flowers and construct new planters, do you forego a garden so you have enough time to make your grounds beautiful? If your yard has to look like a putting green, does the thought of planting, weeding, and transplanting give you a nightmare?

I love to grow Iris and other flowers, but keeping the planters neat takes too much of my time because I would rather grow tasty tomatoes to share with family and neighbors instead. And my garden sometimes gets neglected because I have too much yard area to care for, it's full of weeds and lumps but it's of little use to try to make it nice as it's too darn BIG to care for properly.

Hopefully there are a few people on LMF who have their priorities and areas well balanced, I can tell you right now I'm never gonna be one of them...:confused2::thumbdown:

I wish I was better organized it would help me alot.:ashamed: You make some good points I often have to make decisions about what to do next based on who or what is squeaking the loudest.:frown:

I prioritize my lawn but the time spent now is minimal, but I have been trying to install a new fence and haven't gotten to it yet. Materials on site, new PA 30 hydraulic auger for the 110tlb, time to do it is the issue.

We built a house seven years ago on an undeveloped lot. (That probably answers the question for you, right there!) It was overwhelming at first. Now I have some sections of the grounds under control, some sections in progress, and some awaiting attention.
