So a family member(someone I have to listen to) wants me to fix the lawn mower. But they want to start with replacing the spark plug, this thing looks like it was brand new out of the box. After some inquiry, what I got was..... When the mower doesn't work she flips it upside down, dumps all the gasoline out and replaces it. If the oil stick is low, she puts in some more oil, but has never emptied it. This mower is 3 years old. When I pull the cord, the engine does do anything, it does not sound like anything engages. Not sure what sound I should look for.

I don't know what to do, I know very little about motors in general. I was thinking of squirting a quick spray of WD40 the air filter(without the filter of course) and seeing if it will start, but that could be the worst idea ever<--- I'm know nothing. Mower is a briggs and stratton 550ex and I could find no nipple before someone asks, I believe it is nippless.

What should I do?

Get thee to a repair shop is the best answer I can give you. With the way this unit has been handled, I think it is beyond your skill level.
