I put in a new battery and mowed for one hour and shut it off for 15 minutes and it wouldn't restart. Just a loud ckicking sound. Could it be the selinoid?
Run a jumper wire from the battery + post to the solenoid low amperage +. If it cranks the solenoid is probably good and the other parts of the low amperage cranking circuit is suspect. Like dirty ground cable connection on the frame, oxidized positive and negative battery cables or iffee safety switch (s) in the low amp circuit.
Possibly, "hands on" check all electrical connections making sure they're tight and secure free from rust & corrosion. If it will not start, remove your battery and take it to auto parts store and have them load test battery, just because you purchased a new battery does not mean it is a good battery. If battery checks out ok, you may have other issues like charging system. Post year, model number, engine make as well as all numbers from engine, thanks. Let us know if you get it going and what you found.
