Mower won't start

I have a seven year old John Deere 102 that has always started very reliably. I started last week and only ran it for a few yards to the trailer, turned it off and hooked up. When I went to restart it turned over but didn't start. Then on the second attempt, it seemed the starter stopped abruptly while attempting to crank. The third time nothing, not even a click when I turned the key. The battery is good, and I put a 2 hour charge on it just to be sure.

Check the battery terminals, to see if they are corroded, or loose wires.

Might want to check your ground wire too.
