So against my better judgement I bought a older Snapper - model # YZ20484BVE - last weekend and now it has stopped moving. I've replaced the belt and filled the fluids but it still won't budge. Any suggestions on what to check next?

First, let’s assume you purchased the correct OEM belt, number # 7041823, Superseded to 7041823YP. Second, let’s assume that when you finished installing the new belt, you installed it properly and it was tight with no slop. Third, let’s assume you checked to see if the hydro release levers are not engaged. These are the three most common mistakes people make. If you have not made one of these mistakes, I suggest you jake up the rear engine and operate the unit. If the wheel turn but you can stop them with hand pressure, check to see if the hydro pulley stops turning also. If you can stop the wheels, but the pulley keeps spinning I suspect you may have an internal hydro problem.
