Hello Everyone,
I have a lawnboy 2310, I believe, and I was wondering about grinding issues. Whenever I am mowing the lawn and I get into some thick stuff it starts to develop a sort of grinding issue within the engine. I have checked the blade and it is clearing the frame clearly so I know it's not the blade hitting. But the sound is almost a grinding ringing. It's difficult to describe. But all I have to do is let it run itself on a clear patch for a couple of seconds and the sound dissipates. Any ideas?
Thanks

i am not sure which engine you have but if it is one of the newer briggs what you may be hearing is the starter pawls hitting the starter cup when you put pressure on the handle and it pulls the starter rope out slightly.
