My mower will not prime and I have replaced the diaphram gasket> not sure what to do :confused2:

the model no: PR6Y22CHB
serial no: 041201M 016520

The model and serial number of the mower doesn't tell me what engine you have. The numbers I am looking for are stamped into the blower housing either above the spark plug, or on the flap above the muffler if briggs, may be some other location with another engine make.

PA66 was on the blower housing that was the only number I could find.

Briggs engines will say model, type, code above the information. if the engine have a plastic cover over the engine it can be hard to see the numbers above the spark plug. They are located about half way between the top and bottom of the cover. Will look like xxxxxx xxxx xx xxxxxxxxx where the X is a number or letter.

I know you where probably getting annoyed with my model number question, but it is needed to narrow down the starting system on your mower/engine. Any way you have the type of primer that pushes air into the carb bowl to push fuel into the intake. The air filter cover that attaches to the carb with the two/ three screws has a bad habit of warping, and not allowing the primer to push air into the carb. Most common way to fix it is to remove the air filter housing and then install two gaskets between it and the carb.

something you may also want to check is to remove the bowl nut from the bottom of the carb. You don't have to remove the carb to do this, just try not to disturb the bowl itself because that gasket in there has a habit of swelling in the presence of gas, and may not go back in. Inside of that nut is a jet, You will need to make sure it is clean both from the top and and two holes on the side.

The gasket part number is 272653s or 795629.
