Mower stopped suddenly

My mower just stopped abruptly! When I go to pull the cord again it is stuck and sounds like it is hitting something metal. It is stuck hard, no give at all. It has new gas, clean oil and filter. Thanks for any help. It is a Toro Personal Pace mulching mower (but the mulcher was removed long ago) about 14 years old.

Possible, broken wrist pin, piston frozen to cylinder, crank shaft or connecting rod broken. Unless you want tackle any of these your self, time for a replacement mower or engine as shop labor will eat you alive.

Broken rod. Will have to replace.

I had one do that a few years ago. One of the rings broke and wedged itself between the piston and cylinder wall. Had to get a new mower.
