mower quits when stopped after 15 minutes

I have a 2 year old Craftsman Gold 6.75 mower. It starts on the second or third pull, but when it is stopped after 15 minutes to empty the bag, it will not start again. We don't have the receipt so can't return it. My husband is very good with mowers and one reason we selected this model was the Briggs-Stratton motor.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any way to fix it? Normally after a few days, it will start back up. If I don't stop it, it will run the entire time without a problem.

I hope someone can help. It is very frustrating.

Thanks for any help.

does your mower have a primer bulb or is it auto choke im going to bet its auto choke i have seen a few problems with this set up whjat happens is everything works fine till you empty the bag and let the mower sit a few minuets then the choke thermostat cools off and closes the choke but the engine is still to warm for it to start with the choke on and it causes it to flood the engine with gas and the reason it starts in a few days is cause everything is cooled down and the extra gas has evaporated letting it start normal please let us know what your engine numbers are good luck

My mower does not have a prime bulb. That sounds exactly like what is happening. Is there anyway to fix it or do I just let it cool for a while?

What do you mean by my engine numbers? Is there someplace I am suppose to put these on this forum?

thank you so much.

no you dont have to post the numbers anyplace on the forum just in your post its easer for use to know what kind of engine you have if we have the model and type number and on your mower they should be on a steel plate right above the muffler but as far as fixing it im not real sure you can get rid of the problem totaly but try restarting it right after you empty the bag or let it cool down for a hour or so Rivets is a great guy to get advise from on here maybe he will see your post and make a comment

Thanks. I will know for future posts. I will check my model and type tomorrow.

My husband thinks I am so strange for posting here; but I figure you out there know so much more than we do. He is so good about fixing things up; but we have not found anyone who knows how to fix this.

Thanks again.
