I have a Toro Recycler Personal Pace (Model 20333 rear drive) that I bought new five years ago. It starts fine but lately once I put it under any load the blade slows down and at times the engine will even stall. Finally today the blade stopped turning altogether; a bunch of smoke came out from under the rear wheels.
Normally I would suspect the drive belt has given out, but my question is: Would the drive belt going bad also account for the engine stalling out, or is there some additional problem (dirty carburetor?) that I should look into?
