I have heard and read that when this model runs out of gas they are a real pain to start. Well I did run out of gas and checked my manual. Manual says there is a pressure relief screw that should be loosened. It even pictures the location. Problem is, I don't have one. I had to leave the unit set overnight before it started. I asked a Deere mechanic about it and he said he never heard of it. Anyone else here have this problem or suggestion?

Absolutely, its purpose is to bleed air from system.

Do not use water on engine, you will be creating electrical problems, just use leaf blower to get dust, dirt & debris off then use shop rags to wipe it down by hand. Get in the habit of filling tank before each use just like checking oil level before getting on tractor, never try to fill with gas when engine is hot, let it cool down 10- 15 minutes in shade. Post all numbers from engine data plate, thanks.

Mark, I know the purpose of relieving the pressure, my problem is that I can't find the screw to do that. It does picture it in the manual, but the picture is different from what I am looking at. If you happen to have a manual handy, look on page 17. It's not an emergency, I just want to know in case I do run out again.
I think I'll hose down the engine this afternoon. Maybe it hidden under the grease and dust.
