my friend bought a old snapper and the numbers are 33084.does that mean 33 inch cut,8h.p and no electric start?any idea of the year?i cant find it anywhere

Post the numbers off of the engine, if it is a Briggs, it will tell you what you want to know.

its a briggs but I think they changed it.it has a 10h.p on it now

The 33084 should be 33" cut, 8 hp engine and a four series.

thanks for your help.from what I saw in the manual the blade should be 3/8ths from the deck.i measured the blade on there and its a 28.i no the guy that my friend bought this from and he has a lot of snapper parts laying around.should this deck have a 33 inch blade cause it sure doesn't throw grass good.i no it needs a new belt ive adjusted it as far as it will go and its cracked anyway

Yes, you know how the bottom of the deck curves back in toward the spindle? The blade should be long enough to tuck inside there. This is my smaller RER but you can see how close the blade is to the deck.

thanks,i just looked at it again.the deck is rotted away so im going to get some sheet metal and rivot it on there and put a 33 inch on there
