Model 917 276022 Hard Steering

The Craftsman Model 917.276022 I have is getting really hard to steer. It had the tie rod (steering arm) replaced on it and since it has been hard to turn. It has a very limited turn radius to the left but a large right turn radius.
 
See if the gear on the end of the steering shaft is all chewed up and may have jumped a few teeth on the gear that the tie rod(s) are hooked to. This would account for the variance in turning radius. Let us know how you make out and what you find. Gearjammer
