Hi all, I have a 16hp 326432 0292-01 8102171 engine and it currently has a Rockwell Gen attatched to it. Can anyone plz tell me what type the crank pto is. I'm asuming it's tapered, but i'm having no luck trying to remove the gen armature. I'm using a large claw puller, even though there are no real pulling points on it. Can't really find any info on this engine and don't what to break anything. Thanks.
Do not attach a puller!!! I'm assuming you have removed the draw bolt and yes the crank should have a tapered end. To remove stubborn armatures I use a large dead blow hammer and strike downward on the armature. If you don't have a dead blow hammer, use a large hammer and place a 2x4 on top of the armature to hit. Also, place a board under the armature, with about a half inch gap, so it will not fall far when it comes loose. A little rust buster on the crank may help loosen the armature.
Thanks Rivit, Yea, been smackin it around with a lead hammer, just wasn't Really sure it was tapered. Haven't applied much force with the puller, just hopin it might help. Yep, using an old life vest for cushin
