model 191707 8 hp Oscillating Counterbalance question

[Snapper series 6 1987]

There is a small amount of lateral (side to side) play on the counter balance (Marked A in the pictures) if the crankshaft is reversed by hand after assembly . The small bracket underneath A moves correctly when the crank is rotated in the correct direction only. The bolt is torqued to 115 inch lbs. Just checking to make sure I have this right before reassembly. Thank you for any assistance.
