My lawn was seeded with Lesco Metro blend seed. Any idea if I can get away with using Lesco sun/shade mix from Home Depot for repair and overseeding without having different grass types everywhere? Metro blend is approx twice as expensive as sun/shade.

Find out what kind of seed the original is, what color it is when fully mature, how thick the blades are and how it grows. Then find out what the new sun shade type is if its very different it might be noticible how ever i dont think it will look bad at all if taken care of properly

It is a different mix of percentages, but essentially rye, fescue and bluegrass

those are pretty common just be careful when you overseed new grass is sensitive it takes 3 or 4 mowings for it to be pretty strong

Yesterday I aerated, overseeded and applied starter fertilizer. How long should I wait before I cut the grass? should I bag or mulch? I'm cutting on average twice a week right now. I did cut one step lower before seeding.

A few weeks wait for the grass to start showing and when you do be very carful not to rip up the new stuff when you mow. and when it starts growing slow down the watering to stress it out so you have nice healthy roots.

I figured I could wait 2 weeks before it really gets out of hand. I'll have to bag if I wait that long though. I didn't want to risk sucking up any loose seed.
