Mitox - multitool

I have a 25cc petrol Mitox Multitool which cuts out when I increase power. It's use a pattern carb which appears to be identical to a Walbro D20-WYJ.
I have rebuilt the carb, replaced all gaskets etc, checked the air filer and replaced the plug. But it still continues to cut out.

The only think I can think of now is the air mix - could it be this or doenst anybody have any other ideas please?

Thanks.

If it has an adjusting needle, open it up slightly, as it sounds like it is running too lean on the low end.

Its a genuine walbro carb fitted to the Mitox equipment. If only the Americans had Mitox then they wouldnt buy anything else.

2 things to try.

1. The earlier fuel filters caused a problem not allowing enough fuel flow for pick up.
2. As Rivets says you will need to adjust 1/4 turn to allow more fuel.

You will need special carb tool to adjust.

Hello,

I just wondered where you got to with this. I have an Mitox MT281 multi tool that has the same problem. Stripped, ultrasonic cleaned carb and rebuilt with new gasket set, but the problem is still there.

As i said above.
Some of the fuel filters were faulty and the flock from the filter would come off and go through fuel system.
It would get caught in the main jet area.
Try a new filter and also you need to open the mix screw slightly.

ok, what I was really after was did this fix the problem?. I already took fuel filter off and made no difference.

Will try carb screw but puzzled as to why this has changed as it does not move easily.

Is this a common problem?. Not convinced by dealer who recommended a new carb after only 18 months with light use. They tried to tell me carb's get contaminated with modern day fuel and that it needs to be filtered for chemicals. Sounds like a load of rubbish so reluctant to take it back even if it is for screw adjust.

Thanks

Yes fuel can sometimes cause the problem.
Fuel these days is made from ethanol, Which is alcohol based.
Alcohol attracts moisture. Moisture corrodes metal.
Iv never replaced a mitox carb in the 5 years we have been selling them.
9 out 10 times it is carb adjustment. Needs 1/4 turn anti clock to allow more fuel. It is a special tool though.

What I have done and it fix the problem, replace the petrol pipes and filter.
This is the first thing I do on all Chinese small engines 9 times out of 10 it fixes the problem .
The problem is the same!! engine cuts out when applying more throttle.
