Been a while since I posted here and have got the bug again to put together a couple classic mowers in the the next few weeks, this ad popped up on c-list nearby within the last day, went out to look at the bricktops and the others, unfortunately the green one is froze up, the commercial still looks to have potential, I did snag the the Hahn deck shell to use one of my early Briggs engines on, but still may go back tomorrow and grab the commercial.....01111_6BPCBiHqCkW_600x450.jpg00R0R_6ol5wturbRb_600x450.jpg01717_iTKILGQaBZS_600x450.jpg01313_4f6sLFx2X7F_600x450.jpg01111_6BPCBiHqCkW_600x450.jpg00R0R_6ol5wturbRb_600x450.jpg01717_iTKILGQaBZS_600x450.jpg01313_4f6sLFx2X7F_600x450.jpg

I can see them all, I want to get another 70 or 80's model just do not have a place for it. That would make 3 and I would be the talk of the neighborhood.

Thanks, I must need to reset things on profile page......Yeah it's not hard picking up more mowers than needed, I'm trying to keep it simple, here's a pic of the vintage Briggs engine I may use on the Hahn deck.....IMAG0192.JPGIMAG0194.JPGIMAG0195.JPG

Hi,

I'd be interested in the Jake turbo cut. Looks self propelled. I didn't think Jacobsen made a 2 stroke self propelled model. Where about in Ohio are they?

They're located in north east Ohio, about 15 minutes east of Akron....If I go back for the other L/B I'll take a closer look at the Jake....

Looks like a late 60s modle in there as well. Has the mag side discharge cover....I would grab that one too.
But if I where limited to just one choice....the commercial would definitely be my first choice.

I would be all over that yellow topped Lawn Boy--the one without self-propelled. It's probably a model R7070. The shroud on that one looks to be in better condition than mine. That is a nice "F" engine mower from around 1980, before all the mandated compliance trash. (Sorry, I over reacted.)

I have one of those an it's one of my favorites.

@ironhorse:
That's a nice collection of mowers for sale. Do you know what the story is? Why they're being sold?

Seller claims they're from an estate, but after talking with him I got feeling that these were mowers that he had picked up over the years, I wasn't going to ask if that was the case or not and it really didn't matter because they were all for sale, oddly, the best mowers in the bunch were priced the lowest because they're non runners for parts or repair, I came close to buying several, but just don't have the room for them and I'm mostly into early die cast Briggs powered mowers, but these L/B's just keep going up in value, I still haven't ruled out going back.....

Thanks for the reply.

Maybe you could make some shelves the width of a mower and remove the handles. Somewhere on this website there are photos of such a setup. It would allow you to store a lot of mowers in minimal space.

Or you could just flip them -- eBay maybe?

You live in a good place for finding old LBs. I never see deals like that here in GA.
