M291 hard to start this year.

Hi Members,
I have owned a M291 saw for a few years now, it has been a great saw but this year I find it hard to start. I have no doubt that is it my age, I'm 79 years old and ageing quite well. But this year I find
that the compression is trying to beat me to a proper start. I start it on the ground, boot tip in the handle, choke on and after 3-4 pulls it used to fire and then choke off, one pull and it runs sweet all day.
I have used it once before this season and started it as before. My 2nd attempt was a total let down. Choke on, 3-8 pulls and not even a kick.
Is there another way to start this saw easy or could I need a new plug or whatever is recommended/needed.

Pour out the fuel, and mix a fresh batch. Always the first step.
