I have an LX460 that just loves to shred belts. I have gone thru 1 OEM belt in a matter of hours. Bought a new belt engage cable and a green power belt it lasted maybe 2 days, Bought a new power belt checked all the pulleys and spindle assemblies, No problems found. I do think the deck has been worked on as I found a spacer under one of the idler pullies. I did notice one of the pullies was low and belt was running at the top of the pulley. This belt lasted all of 2 hours. Any suggestions? Does anyone have the specs for pulley height and alignment for the PTO belt?
Which pulley has a washer under to change the height of the pulley? That could be a factor, or wrong pulley was installed.
Here is a diagram of the deck components for that model number:

Is the belt actually shredded? If so it is rubbing something it shouldn't. Is it melting and smell burnt rubber? If so idleror spindle is binding and sropping or belt rubbing someting it shouldn't. One edge of belt chewed up? Idler out of alignment from bad bearings or worn arm pivots.
