I have a jd lx 277 that has the 17 hp kaw motor that is leaking oil on left side around the oil filter but it is not the filter any ideals? it looks like it is coming from under motor

Just a thought here, but, when I change the filter on mine, the oil blobs all over the place and continues to drip from here and there for days.
Might you have the same condition ? Did you just change your filter?
