I used to have a tech working for me at the telephone company that played games like this. He'd call in with minimal descriptions like that, making me pull info out of him with multiple questions. Those support calls turned out to be him just killing time so he didn't have to run another service call that might cause him to work past 5pm. It took me a few of these to catch on to what he was doing. He was unemployed a few days after the last one.
