I am at the bang my head against the wall stage
last year with a tinkering this mower started and ran fine, with a battery jump from a vehicle.
replaced battery and now turn key on and nothing but dash lights
replaced solenoid on starter--no change checked safety switches-- no change battery has 12.5 volts fuses are good I do hear the relays clicking when key is turned to On position I cleaned the ground cable to insure solid connection. I am thinking the fusible link may be shot but am unsure which direction to go.
Looking for out of the box ideas

(This is still in the box) The 12v may mean bat ok, but may only be surface charge when the bat is weak. Clicking but not engagement can be sign of weak bat that cannot drive the gear needed to crank. Check bat with hydrometer, each cell, or try alternate bat.

Thanks I will have the battery tested under load and then check each cell individually. and just to be clear it is the RELAYS that are clicking not the solenoid on the starter.

just to follow up on problem with lx277
had the battery tested and tested ok even with load however after getting home I tested each individual cell and found that only 2 cells had enough juice in them to be borderline 4 others were DEAD(the 2 good cells providd the proper SURFACE current to light up the dash lights. Returned battery, got replacement, tested each cell,1.2 and above!Installed and still nothing.pulled ignition switch out and discovered it had a burnt circuit(on circuit board) Replaced with new one. Also had the starter tested and found a bad solenoid. Finally got it all back together and BAM we are back in bizness and loving life again.

thanks so much for your help it is so appreciated.

Wow you think the jump from the vehicle smoked everything or dead cells maybe caused an arc over / back feed?

Yes it certainly could have (note to self don't do that again)
I think the jumper cables fried MY gray matter :).

The voltage spike by a jump did it in. Powering up from a usable battery always saves the system.
